Unable to donate or unable to give as much as you would have liked on Giving Tuesday? Don’t worry, despite the social media push yesterday, it is important to give year round! Here are some creative ways you can give this holiday season, even if you are short on cash.
- Donation Matching– Many employers have a gift-matching program! Check with your HR department or this website to see if your employer offers one. This is one way to stretch your donation and make a bigger impact for a cause that is important to you.
- Donate something you DO have (clothes, time, blood, whatever). Find a cause that speaks to you. Check out http://www.volunteermatch.org/ (they even have virtual opportunities- what?).
- Use AmazonSmile– This is my second plug for Amazon this month. I am sure this is a blogging faux pas, but AmazonSmile is a way to support a charitable organization of your choice every time you shop, at no cost to you.
- Walk/run for Charity with Charity Miles– I am new to this one and the hardest part was selecting which charity I wanted to raise money for today! This app tracks your miles which result in $$$ for your selected charity.
Does anyone have any other ideas on ways you can stretch your charitable giving this holiday season (and year round)!
